Explanation: I think what they mean by guión is "an explanation for" (the lack of a mother, an absence...) but don't quote me : ) I agree with Henry and I believe it would be fine to use script. I would also suggest explanation, link, connection to, manifestation, or something along those "lines" (I hope you can see my line of thought there.)
