Spanish to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Automotive / Cars & Trucks | | Spanish term or phrase: perfiles de refuerzo [de la] cabina | The "de la" are not in the original text but I think they should be.
This is from a loss adjuster's report concerning the damage done to the rear of the cab of a tractor unit (lorry). The perfiles need to be replaced. See this other question for more details:

| | English translation:bracing bars | Explanation: I always have problems with "perfil" as a technical term. For example, a "perfil de aluminio" would be an "aluminium extrusion". But other types of "perfil" are bent or folded metal, eg, a length of angle iron, or a "U" channel. Anything with a constant cross-sectional shape. You probably don't know what these "perfiles de refuerzo" look like, so I would use a non-specific term such as "bars".
(I wish I could find out how to use quote marks without the website automatically adding a back-slash - does anybody know how to do this?)

OK, so the back-slash only shows up when you preview your answer, but not when you submit it. |

| Grading comment I did have some photographs, but it was still all a bit vague, so I went for "interior and exterior panels", but again your answer gave me some food for thought, so thanks! 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer |
