Spanish to English translations [PRO] Science - Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-) / biohazards
Spanish term or phrase:GIII, GIV
Hi, I've been given the "difficult bits" of a technical manual to translate and can't find any references to GIII or GIV which occur with descriptions about drums (bidones) and containers in general.
The text lists the container type and then says "solo GIII" or "solo GIV" as in the example below.
Drums for liquids: hazardous and chemical waste, except chemotherapy preparations. Only GIV.
Black containers with yellow lids: only GIII.
I don't know if these are standard notations or if they are referenced somewhere esle in the manual - which I don't have access to!!
You're welcome Chris. Yes, I had worked out that the G didn't refer directly to the type of container hence my note at 48 mins. The things we have to do to find out what some of these things mean!!
I read the reference you suggested and it appears that it relates to disposal of types of hazardous waste, rather than the specific container types. This makes sense as I have black drums, blue drums etc etc all for GIII, and other various ones for GIV. The ref suggests solid vs liquid and this seems to make sense too, so I've sent excerpts to the client for them to look at.
The problem is that I can't find any unified reference to the same thing in English - seems to totally depend on what country/state you're in.
