Bretañal, es una comunidad herbacea que crece sobre terreno ligeramente ondulado, cambiando la fisonomia del bosque denso ublado. Esta especie corresponde a la familia Poaceae pero debido a su estado infertil, no se pudo identificar su especie.

agree  Charles Davis: I don't think there's anything else we can do with this. Clearly it is Ecuador, but I can't find any relevant meaning of "bretaña" or "bretaño", or any connection between those words and Poaceae (or Gramineae). The name is a mystery.
