Spanish to English translations [PRO] Science - Botany / cactus | | Spanish term or phrase: agave de papel | This is the title of a photo by the photographer Mariana Yampolsky showing some translucent agave leaves. You can see the photo at

I'm curious about the "de papel" part of the title. Is it idiomatic (relating to botany or to any kind of thin or translucent material), or is it a term specifically used with certain kinds of agave plants? Or was the photographer making her own play on words?
We have translated simply as "Agave leaves" but I'm wondering if something is more accurate. Thank you! |

I am fairly certain this is a view of a real agave plant.

| | paper agave | Explanation: I agree there seems to be a play on words, and that, as the title, it doesn't need much translation. |
