Web searches and paper searches turned up zilch; nothing to go on here but a gut feeling. Still -- remember the (Barbarians at the Gate) RJR/Nabisco circus? This type of (potentially hostile) takeover bid could certainly shut out prospective competing bidders.... or maybe I've just spent too much time around the bridge table.

Found it! In French, according to LGDT, it is: *exclusion par achat d'actions*.

Termium gives both *buyout* and *sell-out* (and cites The Economist as the source for *sell-out*)
