payment delay Explanation: I think that "moratoria" has been used incorrectly. "moratoria" means a legally authorized postponement of the fulfilment of an obligation, or an agreed supspension of an activity. According to the context, the intended meaning here is "payment delay". Collins Eng-Spa Dictionary own experience |

delay / delinquency Explanation: I agree with CCW, it should be "mora", not "moratoria". You'll find lots of references in the web both for delay and delinquency. Best regards, Patricia |

extension conceded for the deadline of payment, Explanation: if this makes any sense. Read in this definition: "Moratoria: prórroga del plazo concedido para el cumplimiento de una obligación (particularmente para el pago de un tributo)." Moliner, Dicc. de Uso del Espaol |

Late fee Explanation: I agree that "Moratoria" seems to be used wrong. Usually, if payment is received after the allotted time, a late fee is imposed. Hope this helps!! Millie |

overdue [or, late] payment Explanation: Hi Alan! I agree with all my colleagues in that the word "Moratoria" is badly used here. The Cabanellas-Hoague gives it as "time extension" but in your case, it's obviously a fee or surcharge for overdue or late payment of the rent..."will pay a late fee [or, surcharge] equal to the rate for 28-day Cetes x 1.5 as of the date on which the payment becomes overdue". That's the best way I can put it. Hope it helps:-) terry Exp. |
