Jenette, I suggest you look at any previous point of Explanation: referral to determine whether the missing word is "specifications, stipulations, solutions, clauses", etc., and work out from there whether these were "agreed upon, established, set forth, laid down," etc. It's quite awkward to leave an ellipsis, but at any rate you know the missing word was feminine! |
