two-column cash-books Explanation: Have only found "subdiario" on "ar" web pages, so I'm unsure about it's exact meaning. However "diario de caja" = cash-book However, according to the Longman Dic. of Business English: "cash-book. ACCTS. a part of a set of accounts which is both a book of prime entry in which is recorded all cash received and paid (cash here including cheques and money in the bank) and at the same time a ledger account. Sometimes it may for convenience be divided into two, a cash received book and a cash paid book. A two-column cash-book has columns for cash and bank on both the debit and the credit side. A three-column cash-book has an extra column for discounts" Given that a web search for cash received/paid book was not convincing (i.e. does not appear to be usual), I plump for the two-column idea. PS if you don't like the hyphens, leave them out. They don't seem to be used much on the web. as above |

petty cash and bank ledgers Explanation: were the terms used in Oxford's Financial English with reference to manual bookkeeping. "Sub-", however, indicates the placement of these ledgers under a larger Cash Flow Control chapter or heading, especially with regards to computerized bookkeeping. I believe the prefix is irrelevant for functional accounting purposes. Oxford, Financial English |
