Spanish term or phrase: larga cambiada
Existen maneras de gestionar esta "larga cambiada". Debemos desarrollar unas respuestas automáticas que, en el momento que escuchemos "quiero pensármelo un poco", se pongan en acción.

En un texto sobre formación de vededores, hablan de cómo contestar la frase "me lo quiero pensar" de los clientes. Lo que encuentro es que "larga cambiada" es un término taurino, pero aquí está utilizado metafóricamente. No capto bien lo que quiere decir.

sidestep/dodge
Explanation:
This phrase seems to be used metaphorically to talk about when someone is dodging an issue or making excuses. I found a few examples concerning politicians refusing to make a commitment.

So, a good solution would probably be some kind of sporting manoeuvre that also has a metaphorical value, e.g. sidestep.
Oxford Dictionary: sidestep
n verb (sidesteps, sidestepping, sidestepped)
1 avoid by stepping sideways.
2 avoid dealing with or discussing.
n noun an instance of sidestepping

Ping-Pong or subtle exchange

Explanation:
“Maneras de gestionar esta "larga cambiada" meaning: ways of asnswering properly.

They want the sellers to respond to the “I will think about”, with a prompt good and fast answer, exchanging (cambiada) words with the customer, in a firm, complete, greaceful and subtle way (larga). I would translate the metaphor as “subtle exchange”, but to “translate culturally” as well, I thought of ping-pong. :-)

The important here is the meaning of the metaphor, and then you will probably find your own equivalent.

I'd reword it a bit, sacrificing the cultural elements, something like:
There are ways of re-directing this put-off. We should develop some automatic responses, to be brought into action as soon as we hear the words 'I'd like to think about it' .
