Asker: What is the English for "dado de alta en la seguridad social" please? Sorry to seem stupid.

agree  Antonio Castillo Gonz�lez: When you are unemployed you are still eligible for social security benefits. You don't need to be working. You have your social security contributions deducted from your unemployment payments./ Your suggestion is, however, correct.
