When I was researching for your entry, several of the related links using the term "despues te chiflo" seemed to be from people communicating online (see example below), which is why I believe the phrase is more akin to something like "I'll get back to you later", which is more generic and covers more situations than just telephone calls:

(a) Indeed, that would be my first instinct. But I don't think it's ever our place to be dogmatic about some supposed "correct" or "best" way to solve a given translation issue. Clearly, it depends on the purpose and readership of the translation, and the translator's intuition.
(b) That apart, it's worth bearing in mind that KudoZ askers are invited to select the *most helpful* answer. This is not automatically the answer containing the "correct" translation. Often, as perhaps is the case here, the contribution is cumulative.

Interesting point, Martin. It suggests that one should translate slang with slang. Therefore, "I'll call you" , "I'll ring you" or other similar expressions - while not incorrect - are not the best translations.

"call"/"ring"/"telephone" is clearly the basic (denotative) meaning; but I think you would do best to use a less neutral expression, in order to render the connotative aspect, the liveliness and informality of a slang term.

The two suggestions so far, "give you a buzz", "give you a shout", seem good to me as a native EN speaker, but slang depends on who you're writing for, so it's down to your intuition: I don't think there is one single definitive answer.

Looking at the options, I think "I'll give you a buzz " is closest.
Alejandro: "chiflar" se usa en Sudamérica; es un silbido fuerte que se porduce al poner dos dedos dentro de la boca (uno en cada extremo). También se usa "chiflido". Saludos/Regards

Nunca había oído "chiflar" en ese sentido. Sin contexto no lo habría entendido. Pero un mexicano propone "contar" (tell) y un argentino "llamar" (call). ¿Es una de esas palabras comodín, de significado vago?
