Explanation:
Somewhere to start, perhaps.

Based on the following, it would seem to mean "verified" "certified", "existing", etc...

(BrE > PIL/conflict of laws) actual physical vs. deemed tax domicile

Explanation:
Good idea for us to revisit our PIL = private international law a.k.a. conflict of laws, plus revenue law, notes and textbooks, namely a domicile of origin vs. of choice vs. a revived and actual or deemed domicile.

The PIL rules bolted on the law of E&W or Scotland may be quite different from those of Spain or the Netherlands.

Being habitally resident in a country (e.g. Spain, Austria or Sweden) doesn't mean being tax-domiciled of choice (UK) there.

Example sentence(s):
  • US > Whether the term ‘residence’ used in a statute will be construed as having the meaning of ‘domicile’, or vice versa, depends on the purpose of the statute.
  • IHTM13024 - Change of Domicile: *Deemed Domicile* Even if a person is domiciled outside the UK under common law, two special rules apply to those who have emigrated from the UK or to those who have been resident in the UK for tax purposes for many years.

NB: My current "domicilio fiscal" in Spain is a PO Box /Apartado de Correos). It took me a while to convince certain authorities - for example the DGT - that this was possible and valid.
