Spanish term or phrase: en film
This is from a letter from the director of a company (no knowledge at all regarding company products/services offered). Apparently, the previous director had asked his subordinates to "cook the books" to report better financial results than was actually the case.

This phrase is confusing to me as I have yet to find the Spanish "film" used any other way than as the English "film." Is it being used idiomatically?

If it helps, my spell-checker lists the Spanish as "Spain-modern sort".

Yo me inclinaría más hacia el lado de lo que dice Mapi, es decir, algo relacionado con los envases y envoltorios.
Creo que se refiere al papel que se utiliza para envolver y conservar alimentos.
En Argentina lo llamamos de varias maneras. La más común es simplemente "film."

También podría ser el film que se utiliza en el fax. Pero en ese caso, no encuentro la relación con "cestas."
