Spanish term or phrase: Médico cirujano

El título otorgado a un estudiante de medicina. Es el nombre que aparece en el diploma, otorgado por una universidad de colombia.
Ya sé que hay varias maneras de decirlo. Yo siempre he dicho, en este caso, Medical Surgeon.
Pero ya que es un diploma y el término a traducir debería ser el auténtico equivalente, he preferido preguntar a ver qué opinais.
El diploma es para un hospital en el Reino Unido.

Medical surgeon is not the Name Of A Diploma In English...

You get a Medical Degree and then you specialize..then you become a Surgeon, and you don\'t get a diploma per se for that..

It's a Medical Degree...that is the way to say it..not medical doctor, not surgeon, please see the glossaries. Elena Sgarbossa explains it really well.

A Medical Doctor is already a practising physician, so it wouldn't apply here.If this person is a student, as you say, then the term "surgeon" wouldn't apply either, since you first need your Bachelor's degree to be able to go on to specialise in surgery.

Yes, you're right. I'll withdraw my answer. It should have been "Bachelor of Medicine" which is the first level of medicine in the UK.

Gracias por la nota Teju. �Ahora s� que me has matado! A ver, tengo el problema que las respuestas sugeridas hasta ahora (algunas por lo menos), no me acaban de convencer. El enlace proporcionado por Altrum es un enlace que hace referencia a una carrera de doctorado (post-graduate), tal y como Marina muy bien ha dicho: no todos los m�dicos tienen un doctorado en el sentido acad�mico del t�rmino (un PhD, vamos). Por ese motivo, Doctor of Medicine no puede ser del todo correcto en este contexto. Todo y as�, a�n nos queda el problema que Teju ha puesto sobre la mesa: el tipo es cirujano o no, y es s�lo el nombre acad�mico que recibe. En el hospital del Reino Unido donde van a darle en empleo querr�n saberlo. �Qu�os parece si, como soluci�n casi salom�nica, lo llammos Medical Doctor (quye no es lo mismo que Doctor en Medicina, me parece)? �Ser�a Medical Doctor un t�tulo v�lido existente en el Reino Unido?
Siento marearos con todo este rollo.
