Spanish term or phrase: academic degree
hi, I'm translating a diploma and I'm having trouble translating this:
"ha optado al titulo universitario de Medico y Cirujano en el grado academico de Licenciado"
I translated it as:
"has been granted with the title of Physician and Surgeon in the academic degree of Bachelor"

Could someone tell me if it is correct to say "in the academic degree..."

Thanks in advance
ana
English translation:has been awarded a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery
Explanation:
Usually use subject names, rather than person names in qualifications.
Also, not "granted with", it would be "granted".

Might be able to check by looking at the web of the university (site might be in English).
