En un certificado de empadronamiento, en los datos de la vivienda aparecen los apartados tipo de vía, pseudovía, número, número superior, km,hm, bloque, portal, escalera, planta, puerta.... ¿A qué se refiere "número superior"?

I was trying to cover all bases, as it were, but on reflection, since the document quoted refers to "doble numeración", we're really just talking about two numbers (21-23 or 26-30, for example), so the translation should just be higher number.
It could be when there are two bulidings with the same number: 2 and 2b.
