Thanks for the answer to my question.
I've also been considering 'compression' as an alternative. You may be right, but it appears to me that 'compression' refers (in this specific context) to how the digital data are manipulated rather than to the process of submitting the contents from a networked PC.
I'll most likely use 'compression' if no better choice shows up.
