Spanish term or phrase: siendo el último de tamaño corto
Communications equipment for signals - Real-Time Databases

Is the correct technical term here simply "short"? Can anyone explain what this is actually referring to?

My attempt is: "with the latter being short if a block of predefined size is not completed".

Thanks very much in advance.

the last one being truncated...
Explanation:
As JK notes, something along these lines should work for you: "... the last of these being truncated if a block of predefined size is not completed".

Reference information:
My interpretation is that the selected records are fetched from the remote database in blocks. If there are not enough records to make up the final block, it is left incomplete and truncated.

(i.e. if there are 8 elements in the set and the block size is 3, the last block will be truncated to 2 elements).
