I would say 'starting model', although I think 'baseline model' is also OK. 'Departure model' sounds a bit awkward to me. |

Explanation:
I think that "starting model" and "entry model" (although I would say "entry-level model") imply that the user is a beginner, whereas "basic model" imply that improvements and features may be added.
