Bridges over rivers/channels with piles in the abutments and pillars

Explanation:
I understand that the estribos refer to the point at which the bridge is anchored to the river bank. Are they artificial or natural waterways by the way?

bridges over watercourses with piles for abutments and piers

Explanation:
I find that watercourse is the best option for "cauce de agua" as it is a broad term (please see links for definitions).

In bridge building, a "pilar" is not a column or a pillar. It is known as a "pier"

PIER – A vertical support or substructure unit that supports the spans of a multi-span superstructure at an intermediate location between its abutments.

pier(s)
The part of a bridge that supports the horizontal element, and carries the load to the ground, especially the intermediate support in a multi-arched bridge.
