uneven site

Explanation:
"Buildings on the site were demolished many years ago, since when the undisturbed site has become very heavily overgrown with a variety of rough vegetation. A raised bund [built some years ago to deter illegal use of the site by travellers] borders Rotherham Road North. The uneven site is now characterised by rough grass, with a scattering of well-developed shrubs & small trees across the site, "

Terrain, yes, but faulty - makes me think of defective as in machinery. Not saying that it isn't acceptable, but I do have a slight hesitation in using it!
