Spanish to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering / quarry mining | | Spanish term or phrase: relevamiento en obra de las medidas a cortar...posterior colocacion | Description of how custom-designed stone pieces are produced:
El producto terminado consiste en una o en una serie de piezas numeradas, todas ellas cortadas de acuerdo a planos. El método de trabajo tradicional se iniciaba con el relevamiento en obra de las medidas a cortar, su corte y posterior colocación. Esta metodología esta cada vez más en desuso y los estudios importantes de arquitectura cada vez más se están orientando a tener el despiece previamente proyectado con sistemas computarizados (CAD).
From what I can gather this means the measurements/cutting lines are first marked out on the stone in situ, then the pieces are cut and placed together in the required order.
I'm not completely sure however, mainly because of the reference in the next sentence to "el despiece previamente proyectado". I feel there is perhaps a stage missing from the description.
