Spanish to English translations [Non-PRO] Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering | | Spanish term or phrase: planchas/ canelizaciones | From a newspaper article about Madrid Rio, a project to build a park on land reclaimed by burying a major road. The full phrase is:
Lo que ahora parece un sinuoso entorno natural de árboles, presas y senderos no es más que “una ficción” sobre planchas de túneles y esconde, en realidad, un sinfín de salidas de emergencia, canalizaciones, instalaciones eléctricas y torres de ventilación con las que el proyecto tuvo que "negociar."
Does anyone know what the 'planchas' could refer to? Are they some kind of metal plate? I'm also having some difficuly with canalizaciones. Would they be channels for water or for something else?
