Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering / Access Control - Security - Door Locks
Spanish term or phrase: bofetón
SPAIN. Description of a type of door lock release. (Anyone who tells me it means "slap" probably deserves one). It may be a typo because I can't find it any technical dictionaries so far - or pehaps they mean "resbalón" (=pieza de la cerradura que permite cerrar la puerta de "golpe") which occurs in similar descriptions. Any ideas?

"Su versión estándar ofrece pestillo ajustable, que permite el ajuste entre el
pestillo y el bofetón, en el proceso de instalación."

This makes about different 5 terms the client uses for latch/bolt now, so I hope their "customer is always right" when they have to try to find the right one!

agree  Charles Davis: Excellent work as usual, Sergio. I'd go for your full answer, "latch bolt" (or "latchbolt"), because "bolt" alone could be ambiguous, depending on the rest of Neil's text.
