No se, no me suena bueno the image and prestige that Italian wines have been generating.. do you generate image and prestige? ¿Alguna sugerencia?

agree Carol Gullidge: image and prestige...gradually earned//I think image is pretty good, but prefer your phrasing for the rest, and, as you say, you were providing an alternative :)

  -> Thanks Carol, you ARE lenient to me! Could also be worded in the passive I suppose, gradually earned by. 'Name' as in earning a name as I was under the impression the asker wanted to hear alternatives to image.
