agree  Isamar: I certainly agree but it's a bit long! I'd go with French toast as isn't 'pain perdu' sometimes the translation for bread and butter pudding? BTW there's a great bar up the road with excellent torrijas all year round.

  -> Thanks. It is long, but how else is anyone going to understand the red wine part? In the US pain perdu is always French Toast - I don't know if this is true in GB. As for torrijas and everything "frito" my in-laws dish out more than I can swallow!

agree  neilmac: I'd leave it in Italics, but French toast is widely known. Never heard of pain perdu though...
