El borde libre de la uña es la parte que no está rodeada de piel, es decir, la que nos cortamos. Cómo se llama en inglés?

Spain
free edge (not border)
Explanation:
The correct term for the 'cutting' end of the fingernail is 'free edge'. The 'borders would be where sides and base of the nail meets flesh, where the nail borders on the rest of the body.

wikipedia:
# The Free Edge is the part of the nail the extends past the finger, beyond the nail plate. There are no nerve endings, thus it does not hurt to cut it.

free borders (of the nail)

Explanation:
The continuous growth of nails usually leads the free border of the nail away from the nail bed which supports the nail. But sometimes it may get struck to the skin, due to the crumbling nature of nail or with the barrier of the skinfold remaining in front of nail-free edge.
