La unión o *anclaje* de la vesícula a la membrana plasmática se realiza específicamente en los lugares donde se encuentran las proteínas plasmáticas antes indicadas, de no estar estas no se produciría el *anclaje*.

Se inyecta en el músculo y destruye la proteína SNAP-25 que es necesaria para el *anclaje* de la vesícula portadora de NT. El *anclaje* no se produce y no se pueden liberar los neurotransmisores, por lo que la señal nerviosa no continúa y no puede contraerse el músculo.
