aprendizaje asíncrono
long-distance learning

Explanation:
This is the standard term. "Asynchronous learning" would leave most native English speakers scratching their heads wondering what was meant.

From Yahoo:
Results 1 - 10 of about 352,000 for "long-distance learning"

Suerte.

Note: "Distance learning" is even more popular: >48 million Yahoo hits [!]

Correction:

Well, maybe I myself would be one of the few native English speakers who would scratch his head over "asynchronous learning". There are over 300,00 Yahoo hits for the term.

Over 300,000 hits for "asynchronous learning".
My ignorance.
Still, over 10 times as many hits for "distance learning".

agree  kristagita: I have usually seen it just as distance learning, or e-learning as well
2 mins
  -> You're right. It is more common. But either are preferable to "asynchronous learning". Thanks. :)

agree  Myriam S: That is correct
16 mins
  -> Thank you, Myriam.

agree  Sarah McGrane Gonzalez: Fully agree. The intention is to be understood. Particularly if trying to advertise a course to potential buyers. Elements must be clear to the average lay-person.

  -> Absolutely. Thanks, Sarah. :)

aprendizaje asíncrono
distance learning/independent study

Explanation:
This could be online with a "class", where they have a forum with "threaded conversations" or something where there are no "classes", but the student is studies independently and is in contact with the professor periodically. It could an arrangement with a fixed or flexible deadline. This is becoming very popular in the U.S. and allows people to work and go to school without worrying about conflicting hours.
