Spanish term or phrase: analizar y comprobar el avance y paso hacia el siguiente libro
Mediante un test inicial, se clasifican los alumnos en niveles principiantes, intermedio y avanzado, los cuales varían según el grado de conocimientos de los classificados. Después, según los puntajes se les determina el libro a utilizar y periódicamente se hacen evaluaciones para analizar y comprobar el avance y paso hacia el siguiente libro.

I remember from grade school that we were assigned different books based on our reading skills, and then every so often there would be an evaluation to see if we were ready for the next book. I read "paso" as referring to the move to the next book.
