Explanation:
Puede haber dos terminos: internship, o residency. Es muy probable que se refiera a la primera. Basicamente la diferencia entre las dos es que el "internship" se realiza cuando la persona todavia esta estudiando, y se considera una practica que le va a servir mucho no solo como practica profesional sino mas adelante para su hoja de vida. La residencia se le llama pasantia en algunos paises, y es muy similar al internship, pero se realiza ya cuando la persona ha terminado sus estudios. Puede ser mucho mas especializada, y puede llevar a un contrato permanente de trabajo una vez se cumpla el tiempo requerido.
Yo no utilizaria el termino "served", pues es muy utilizado en terminos legales, y podria tomarse de otra manera. To diria "realized an internship".
