Spanish term or phrase: colegio

The text I am translating is a proposal to introduce computers in schools in a number of different Latin American countries.

My question is whether, within such a context, "colegio" can invariably be translated as "secondary school" or secondary educational instution. The answer to this question hinges on whether all secondary institutions are "colegios" (I think not) or not. One option might be to leave "colegio" untranslated.

Examples of use of "colegios" in my document follow (from a table indicating various kinds of data to be compiled):

Proporción de colegios con conexión de banda ancha y ancho de banda promedio, por área geográfica.

Estabilidad promedio (Nivel de Servicio) de la conexión de los colegios, por área geográfica

Tarifas mensuales de conexión por banda ancha en los colegios (Valor promedio en dólares por cada MB de ancho de banda)

I think it is going to depend on the country. In Peru everyone refers to colegio as what would be their highschool which is 5 years long. Some start colegio at 11 or 12 years old in Peru.

Be careful here...
Sometimes secondary school is translated as "Instituto" as "instituto de secundaria" or "Instituto de educación secundaria" and so on.

Strictly speaking, school is NOT for secondary education, it is intended to be for "before the teenager years" in Spanish language.
It is true, tough, that "some" Latin-American countries may use "school" for, also, secondary education...

But I thought It'd be a good detail to take into account
