would be useful to know who or what the motto is for but this might spark off some other ideas :)

agree  philgoddard: Good idea.

agree  Pablo Julián Davis: Very nicely done. Though I think it might apply better as the motto, say, of a youth organization (rather than, as is the case here, of a school), this really rates an 'Agree'. Idiomatic, free-flowing: ¡bien hecho!

Educating youth to advance the nation/ ... our nation/ ... contribute to national progress

Explanation:
I very much like David's proposal, and have agreed with it. I did think that there is still room for a motto that maybe better expresses the guiding spirit of a school; his 'We' strikes me as possibly more apt for the slogan of a youth organization.

One of the challenges is that 'una juventud' works great in Spanish, but 'youth' can read awkwardly in English and 'a youth' most emphatically doesn't work.

In case it's of any use, here's my partial 'chalkboard' of ideas...
Fostering youth committed to their country's developmt/advancemt
Nurturing a younger generation advancing their country
Educating youth committed to their country's developmt/advancemt
Nurturing youth to advance their country's well-being
Nurturing youth to advance their country's development
Educating youth committed to their country's progress
Nurturing a younger generation to contribute to national progress
Educating youth to contribute to national progress
Educating youth to advance the/our nation
Educating youth to contribute to the nation's progress

agree  philgoddard: Wow! Anyone that gives that many suggestions deserves an Agree.

-> Ha ha, finally figured out the surefire way to get Agrees out of philgoddard. Seriously, thanks. Was drawing blanks, 'chalkboard' helped me find my way on this one.

agree  ormiston: nice selection. All that's missing is perhaps 'empowering' (?!)
5 hrs
-> Thanks very much. You're probably right about 'empowering' (though I'm not particularly in love with it, it's an important word these days).

Preparing the next generation for Country X’s future

Explanation:
This would be my approach for a motto, I think. Presumably you know what country the university is in, but if not "the nation's future" would do, though I'd prefer to use the country's name.
