Community education officers Explanation: I Community education officers work within diverse communities to promote and organise adult or family education or training opportunities. However, community education roles typically involve an element of community engagement to increase participation in, mainly informal, educational and recreational activities. II Community education, also known as Community-based education or Community learning & development refers to an organization's programs to promote learning and social development work with individuals and groups in their communities using a range of formal and informal methods. A common defining feature is that programmes and activities are developed in dialogue with communities and participants. The purpose of community learning and development is to develop the capacity of individuals and groups of all ages through their actions, the capacity of communities, to improve their quality of life. Central to this is their ability to participate in democratic processes(wikipedia) Reference: http://www.prospects.ac.uk/community_education_officer_job_d... social pedagogue or social education teacher Explanation: wikipedia has an interesting contribution on social pedagogy. This relatively new curriculum is due in great part to our multicultural societies. In Switzerland the German term is Sozialpädagoge, translated as social education teacher. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2014-12-06 14:43:41 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_pedagogy -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2014-12-06 14:44:23 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_pedagogy -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2014-12-06 14:46:46 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Social pedagogy is based on humanistic values stressing human dignity, mutual respect, trust, unconditional appreciation, and equality, to mention but a few. It is underpinned by a fundamental concept of children, young people and adults as equal human beings with rich and extraordinary potential and considers them competent, resourceful and active agents. Overall, social pedagogy aims to achieve: Holistic education – education of head (cognitive knowledge), heart (emotional and spiritual learning), and hands (practical and physical skills); Holistic well-being – strengthening health-sustaining factors and providing support for people to enjoy a long-lasting feeling of happiness; To enable children, young people as well as adults to empower themselves and be self-responsible persons who take responsibility for their society; To promote human welfare and prevent or ease social problems. |
