Spanish term or phrase: homologación vs. habilitación
Both terms appear on a Colombian university transcript of academic record in the description of the school grading system.
I'm not sure about the difference between the two terms.

homolgar = convalidar cursos/materias

habiltación = a type of advanced standing or recognition

In other contexts, habilitation (from the German tradition) can be used to refer to a higher doctorate (beyond your typical PhD). Though not often used in English, references to 'habilitation' can be more easily found in Brazilian Portuguese.

That said, I'd probably contact the university directly if I couldn't find anything on its website. With so little context, it's difficult (to say the least).

Though 'homologación' can refer to the process of establishing degree equivalence, in the context of a transcript this is more likely to involve the transfer of credits, which is similar but just involves a comparative analysis of the individual courses of which a degree program is comprised. (Thanks for the note, Dariusz, and regards from Saipan!)

As for "homologación", here's what I found regarding Colombia:
Es el proceso de validación de los estudios parciales, realizados por una persona natural en una institución educativa externa – domiciliada fuera del territorio colombiano -, debidamente legalizada, con reconocimiento en país extranjero; a
partir de la constatación del cumplimiento de condiciones curriculares específicas. Este proceso de homologación se efectúa ante la IES – colombiana - en donde se aspira ingresar para culminar sus estudios de educación superior.

Acá en Argentina también usamos el término "homologación" cuando nos cambiamos de universidad o cuando comenzamos una nueva carrera terciaria o universitaria. Por ejemplo, si hay una materia que ya dimos en otra carrera, entonces la podemos "homologar" (es decir, que nos la aprueben como ya cursada) para no volver a cursarla.
