Spanish term or phrase: se otorgó equivalencia de la materia
Hola a todos: Necesito traducir un certificado analítico universitario donde aparece la frase arriba mencionada seguida por las materias/ asignaturas que le fueron reconocidas a la alumna al cambiar de universidad. Les agradezco, de antemano, la ayuda! "El presente certificado se extiende a favor de XXX, a quien se otorgó equivalencia de la materia XX".

GLOSSARY ENTRY (DERIVED FROM QUESTION BELOW)
Spanish term or phrase: otorgar equivalencia
English translation: to validate

Context:
otorgar equivalencia
Es un certificado analítico de una universidad de Argentina:
"por resolución XX, de fecha XX, se otorgó equivalencia de las siguientes asignaturas"
It basically means the same as "convalidar", which I translate as "validate", having found British universities that use this term
