Besides being something very personal, like the initials of a class name, I found this on a webpage:

Que significa IHS ?
En una publicación para celebrar los 40 años del Colegio de nuestra Señora de Medianeira en Curitiba Brasil, aparecen algunas interesantes versiones de IHS, veamos:

* Desde el principio, San Ignacio utilizó estas letras para invocar el nombre de Jesús como una adoración personal.
* De acuerdo al Padre Victoria, IHS, significa "Jesús Habemos Socium" que significa que tenemos a Jesús como nuestro compañero.
* De acuerdo a Constantino, IHS significa "In Hoc Signo vinces" que significa que con este símbolo Ud. ganará.
* De acuerdo a una tradición medieval, IHS significa "Jesús Hominum Salvator" o sea Jesús el salvador de los hombres.
