Spanish to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng / Electricity supply specifications
Spanish term or phrase:eje inverso
Part of specifications to be met by potential suppliers of electricity to the grid:
"Reactancia no saturada síncrona sobre eje directo e inverso (p.u.)
Reactancia transitoria y subtransitoria sobre eje directo e inverso, (p.u.)"
Explanation: 'eje inverso' refers to a situation in which one of the machine's fields is rotating in the opposite direction to normal (as can happen very briefly if the machine shaft is abruptly stopped from turning, e.g. by debris in a water-turbine or a mechanical overload), causing the apparent field frequency to be twice its usual value and hence giving a different value of the reactance.
