Por otro lado, al 100% de equipos fabricados se les somete a un *ciclo de quemado* con objeto de prevenir la aparición de componentes defectuosos en la primera etapa de funcionamiento del equipo. El mayor porcentaje de fallos de componentes se encuentran al principio de la vida del mismo, sometiendo al equipo a ciclos de frío y calor, se pretende simular la etapa inicial de vida del equipo y por lo tanto, detectar fallos prematuros en los componentes.

Explanation:
I really do not think that the original said burning cycles being an electronic device. Nevertheless, if it is an electronic device measuring a heat/cold characteristic of, say, a fuel engine, the the burning cycles could be used since it can refer to the combustion (burning) of the engine.
