Se usa al trabajar con salidas que están negadas (compuertas, multivibradores, etc.). Dadas las características de implementación en la lógica TTL, que por naturaleza presenta salidas negadas es entonces la lógica digital mas común. La otra lógica es la positiva, comun en los circuito MOS.
