a five-way insert Explanation: ISO 1140 is the European standard for polyamide ropes and hawsers. This text seems to refer to the splicing of hawser and rope ends, using a circular or oval steel (normally) insert to preserve the shape of the loop, and to provide a means to attach the fall protector to anchoring devices. It would be a five-way insert to facilitate braiding of the various strands. |
