I have a few questions as it's from a big project I just finsihed, therefore, they're coming one after the other.
Context is:
"En los recintos industriales donde solamente se requiera un pavimento de buena resistencia mecánica, se utilizará el hormigón de la losa, platachado y luego allanado hasta obtener una superficie lisa y homogénea, de acuerdo a lo dispuesto en la Sección 8.5.4."
Explanation: Encuentro mucha variedad de términos según país. Lo que aquí llamamos 'fratacho' y los chilenos platacho, en España aparentemente es 'fratás' o 'llana de madera'. En inglés también parece que hay varias herramientas bajo el término general de 'trowel'
No sé la palabra exacta en inglés, pero esta es la explicación de "platachado": Acción de extender el estuco sobre la superficie plana de un muro, por medio del platacho, imprimiéndole movimientos mas o menos o circulares. ...

I've found that there are several kinds of spreaders, including the most common, small-scale one, which the Americans call 'wooden float'. They also say 'float the concrete' rather than 'spread'.
There's a Chilean PDF about industrial building which may be useful, particularly as it includes English terms in the text.
