Thanks for all your contributions. Sergio is right in that whilst the document is a contract, the vocabulary refers to the engineering project which is for a generating plant in a mining operation. The trazados in case, I have found out, are paths so I think that esquemas is probably better translates as maps.

The document might be indeed of legal nature, but the term itself refers to an engineering project (the object of the property rights) of some kind and the translation options are, imo, heavily influenced by the engineering context. The word "trazado" could refer to an electronic circuit or to a highway, and would be translated differently to spanish in those contexts.

Context "Intellectual and industrial property rights".

This has nothing to do with when, where, how or who will construct, this is strictly legal, the owner of the patents/copyrights will use them for the proyect and to protect himself.

I agree with Liz that more context is needed. What kind of engineering project is this about? If we are talking about road design, "trazado" would be better translated by "alignment". Probably "alignment layouts" would be a good choice for the whole term in this case.
