"evidence of the environmental impact of crude (oil). Would use "oil" if not clear from the rest of context, or not already used.
Or could rearrange sentence a bit and say
"crude oil has impacted detrimentally on the environment.."
OR
"the detrimental/environmental impact of crude oil is evident"
