Could I translate this as:
This kind of repayment allows you to reduce the time period over which your loan payments are spread. The amount will remain the same.

I would say payment..you have a loan, you make payments.....
a loan is an installment loan..but in regular English, we make payments. |

| Grading comment I have to agree that installment sounds a bit strange for loan repayments, so I'm going to go with Jane's reworking of the sentence. But thanks everyone
