Spanish term or phrase: rentabilidad
Looking for considered answers to this one, please:

I know "renatibilidad" means "profitability", but it just doesnt really fit in the context... what the text is talking about is buying a property abroad, which one could live in AND/OR let out when not staying there. The result being "rentabilidad"... I feel that it is something between "profitability" and "income" but if it were "income" why doesnt the original text say "ingresos".
Here's an example of how it appears: "cuando usted no está le ofrece una interesante rentabilidad para su inversión".
Maybe I'm just over-complicating it...??

Return
Explanation:
Hi,

In the original they're using "rentabilidad" because, as your context states, they are referring to this property as an *investment*.

You don't receive "profits" on an investment but a "return".

In fact, it's a dual investment because your return will come from two sources:

a) the rise in the value of the property
b) the rent obtained from leasing it.

Both are considered a return on the initial investment.

profitability

Explanation:
In this case, I think you are right. It seems that they are referring to a way to make money off of the property when they are not there, such as when a person has a beach house and they rent it out during the off season months to help offset costs, etc.
In that way they are indirectly referring to how and if they could make a profit from the real estate........ Their profit would be from the income that they draw in from the place while they are not there.

return

Explanation:
... offers a high return on your investment.
I think this is a lot less complicated than using the term "profitability", especially in the context of the example you gave.
