Needless to say, "connexion" is chiefly British, and "connection" is American. :)

Though I am not an expert on British English, I have definitely seen "connexion" with an "x" before. I hold Orellana's glossary in high regard. Thanks.

disagree  Nikki Graham: No, sorry. Connexion is not British. It is used, according to the New Shorter Oxford, for only one specific term in connection with the Methodist Church.// I can find 1,800,000 hits for coNection. doesn't make it right though, does it?

causal nexus

Explanation:
Nothing wrong with a literal translation. Probably different from participation: the offence creates a causal nexus with the liability.

Nexus between related offences is used in internat. & Eng. crim. law.
