Spanish term or phrase: profesionales independientes del derecho
In a text referring to "Ley 19/1993 sobre determinadas medidas de prevencion del blanqueo de capitales", I'm not sure if this means professionals independent from the law, or freelance legal professionals/practitioners:

This extract, relating to "Directiva 2001/97/CE del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo", seems to suggest that it is "independent from the law":

Can anyone please confirm or refute this, as "independent from the law" seems a bit odd to me and I've been unable to find any claririfation on google.

Many thanks.

independent legal practitioners
Explanation:
As used in Spain, both of the expressions you quote refer to those who practice law, either as solo practitioners or in law firms. "Profesionales del ámbito jurídico" and "profesionales del derecho" are synonyms meaning "legal professional/practitioners".
