Spanish to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Finance (general) / México
Spanish term or phrase:financiaciones de ext.
This is found in a lending document from a bank.
it is found under the subheading:
RENOVACIONES / RECONDUCCIONES
Las reconducciones de operaciones aprobadas en este Cté. coresponden al Ctor., y al DGA Primera, DGA Red Inernacional o Director División Internacional en Inernacional en caso de Comité sup.
Pueden autorizar renovaciones de créditos / financiaciones de ext. / líneas de avales / línes de dto. o ant. Cdtos.
Explanation: In LA/Spanish banking practice and slang, "financiaciones exterior" can mean, depending on the sense with which the term is utilized, either the financing of foreign trade transactions or financings obtained overseas from the Bank's foreign correspondents or other foreign sources.-

Mike: If the context here refers to renewals or extensions of loans/credits, as it looks to me, then probably the meaning is "foreign trade financings" since it refers to the type of loan/credit.-
(continued) but DGA surely means Director General de Área o something very similar. Mexican banks have, sometimes, peculiar names for their top officials, at least as compared with chilean, argentine or uruguayan Banks.
Have a nice week-end, amigo.-
Perdón, Mike, recién veo tus comentarios. Yo creo que es como tú dices, quizás porque durante 16 años fui el Director de la División Internacional del Banco Roberts (hoy HSBC) en Argentina. No sé que será "Ctor" (maybe Contador? but it doesn't make sense
Miguel, my initial reaction was the same as yours - it could very well be "exterior", o sea overseas, etc. However, in this context might it means some sort of "extension" and hence "ext." might refer to something else? It is a doubt that I have. Mike :)
